In our last post, we covered the second part of getting into the state to use the Law of Attraction for money and wealth: the formation of Creative Visualization and using all of our five senses. Our creative visualizations can only be effective if we are in a relaxed state, which we covered in Part 1.
Now we are ready for the third essential ingredient in the formula for using the law of attraction for wealth creation: Belief, Faith and Conviction

In my personal attempts to manifest money, I used to perform a well crafted creative visualization, or cv for short. ( The cv example I used in the Part 2 post is loosely based on it.) I would dutifully replay my cv twice a day, morning and night. I did this religiously for 6 months. I did not skip even one day. My creative visualization was absolutely wonderful—it incorporated all my senses, and I visualized very detailed wealth scenarios that would certainly bring me the happiness and abundance I so desperately desired.
To my dismay, at the end of the six months, nothing happened. I didn’t receive a check in the mail for a million dollars. I wasn’t financially set for life or unencumbered with bills. I didn’t even get a raise. My life hadn’t changed at all. At first I was a little disappointed. A week or so after the Universal deadline to bring me wealth and money, I was feeling downright angry!
As I look back on that experience, I can see that I had a lot of flawed thinking. I possessed little to no belief, faith, or conviction in myself. Oh I was filled with hope alright, but that was it. Obviously I had little faith in the law of attraction, but as I pointed out in an earlier post, the law works whether we believe in it or not. It is not objective—it just is. Like gravity, or any other universal law. So in truth the law was working and bringing me that which my unconscious thoughts were commanding—namely desperation.
The first flaw in my thinking was this very Desperate desire. If I am desperately desiring anything, I am defeating the whole purpose. Desperation is fear-based, and always comes from a place of lack. This is not faithful thinking and only serves to push wealth and money away. That is exactly what happened with me. I would recite my Creative Visualizations over in my head, use all my senses. I was hopeful and desperate. Still somewhere in my thoughts I would agonize over how this would actually take place in my life.
Another part of this story which you need to know is although I was dutiful in repeating my Creative Visualizations twice a day, in truth I was secretly very doubtful that the riches I desired would come to pass. I looked around at my everyday life as evidence that money and wealth were just not in the cards for me. My house and car needed fixing, my job didn’t pay enough, I didn’t come from a wealthy background, and financial matters caused me a lot of worry! The truth was, while I was repeating my Creative Visualizations, I wasn’t believing it really could happen to me. I had no faith. Although I did not acknowledge it at the time, but this was the case. I was fooling myself.
As I shared in earlier posts, I was ingrained with a lot of negative thoughts about money, and I didn’t know at the time I needed to fix this flawed thinking. Today I know that I deserve and attract all the riches and abundance of the universe to me!
By giving the Creative Visualizations 6 months to manifest, I was in effect putting a time table on the universe. “I will have this amount of money by this date, so help me God.” Hmm… As if I give the Universe a deadline, like this attracting money was a project I was assigning to an employee. It doesn’t work that way at all. Until I realized that I needed to give up my control over my wealth creation, I was blocking the flow of energy.
Clearly I lacked belief, but also conviction.
Conviction, as defined by WordNet Search is, “an unshakable belief in something without need for proof or evidence.” (source: http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu). My so-called belief was very shaky and my 6 month timeline was when I expected to see my proof!
How to Believe and have Faith and Conviction
Act as if you already have the money and wealth you desire. Act As If.
That sounds easy on paper. Real easy. Heck it sounded good to me. I thought I was acting as if. It wasn’t until well after my failed 6 month Creative Visualization exercise dutifully repeated morning and night using all my senses that I realized I wasn’t doing it right.
Self deception is a very hard thing to admit. Why do you think I was mad at the Universe for not getting that which I was asking for every day and night? I was mad at every wealthy person I could think of, especially the ones that seemed really happy.
It was so much easier for me to point a finger on something outside myself, be it fate, the universe, birthright, whatever, than to admit I was a failure at using the law of attraction. I had to own up to my shortcomings. I can’t imagine that anyone wants to own up to failure, because I know I sure didn’t. 
But that is what I had to do. As Dr. Phil says, if you don’t acknowledge it, you can’t change it.
So I had to own up to the fact that I was a poor student of the law of attraction (pun intended!). And then I had to rework my program. This time around however, it wasn’t redoubling the work. This time, I understood how I needed to act as if and be absolutely convinced that what I intended (money and wealth) were not only possible for me but that it would be impossible for wealth abundance Not to happen to me.
We are all able to control what we think about, especially when we are focused on doing just that. What I am suggesting here is to practice a wealth and abundance mentality. If a negative thought comes to mind, “I wish I could afford that Corvette” –deliberately place a wealth thought into your mind “that is a beautiful yellow Corvette, I love it, and I can afford it!” Say it out loud if you can. The goal is to be enthusiastic and about your wealth thought. This really supercharges it.
I’ve heard it said often, and it’s true—in order to receive, you must believe. So repeat your enthusiastic wealth thoughts until you feel yourself believing them! Your belief creates powerful attractor forces that bring your intentions to life. So think big, grand, fantastic thoughts of wealth and money. State your thoughts aloud whenever you can and feel excited and enthusiastic about the thoughts. Continue to do this, and you will begin to truly Believe that you are already in a state of great wealth and abundance. This is key.
And so it shall be, in accordance with universal law.
